Learn About The Chefs...

My origins trace back to New Haven, CT where I was born and raised.


My family however, is from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico.


Ever since I was a young boy, I have loved food. At the age of 18 years old, I loved cooking and creating delicious plates of food for my family. I soon realized that I had a knack for making really good food!


In 2010, I decided to attend the Lincoln Culinary Institute. There, I was able to better my skills and continue to create many delicious dishes in a more professional manner. I had the privilege of cooking for the Palmas Restaurant, Red Hen Restaurant and Baci Restaurant.

My lovely wife Isabel Ortiz is also a chef here. Ever since Isabel was a little girl in San Germán, Puerto Rico, up until the point when she came to the United States, she has been cooking.


Due to the fact that she was always cooking with her mother, her love for making tasty food grew. We worked together at the Old San Juan Restaurant and in 2016, we decided to start catering together so that we can share our food with as many people as we could.


Everywhere we go, we are always looking for new ideas to bring to life in each of our dishes. Every one of our dishes has a story and hopefully you are able to experience that same euphoria we experience when we cater for you. 


We hope to leave our son with this same desire to cook and create great memories while doing so. As chefs, we feel like an artist painting a beautiful work of art and we here at Old San Juan Restaurant hope you are truly satisfied!
